TAMPA BAY, FL — Another weekend here in the bay.  Not sure what to do or where to go?  Here are eight things to do this weekend.

1. The VINYL Party (Saturday)
“VINYL” is set to take you back to the glam rock & pop era where spinning records was a thing. Inspired by groovy days, disco nights, hair-raising guitars, & when MJ was the king. The 13 Ugly Men Foundation will host this themed event that will feature 60’s, 70’s, & 80’s style music & décor at the Ritz in Ybor. Tickets are $30-40. Get the details

2. Halfway There: A Festival of Beer (Saturday)
Festival attendees will have the opportunity to taste beer from 58 local, national and international breweries that have played a major role in the continued success of Tampa Bay’s thriving craft beer culture as part of Tampa Bay Beer Week at Armature Works. Tickets cost $35. Get the details

3. Pre-Season Tailgate (Saturday)
The docks are open, the grills are lit, the games are out, and the alcohol flows freely. Staying true to its all-American theme, American Social Tampa is hosting a Pre-Season Tailgate Party. Complete with giveaways, cornhole, and the delectable American bites and drinks AmSo is known for, it’s a party not to be missed. This event is free and you’ll get a free beer if you register. 4. Stand Up Paddleboard State Competition (Saturday)
Special Olympics Florida will be hosting its annual Stand Up Paddleboard State Competition, featuring Special Olympics athletes from across the state of Florida. This event is free to attend. Get the details

5. Cupcake Contest (Saturday)
The Morean Arts Center wants you to help in a city-wide search for St. Petersburg’s best cupcake! Cupcakes will be judged on icing/frosting, flavor/texture and presentation/creativity for a total of 50 points, which allows plenty of room for edible creativity. The winners will receive bragging rights around St. Petersburg and a handmade cupcake trophy by a local artist to be announced later this summer. There is a $15 entry fee to compete or a $5 admission fee to taste. Get the details

6. Caribbean Carnival & Festival (Saturday)
Come out to experience the wonders of the Caribbean. The festival will have food vendors, serving a variety of Caribbean to American foods, arts and crafts vendors, beer trucks and live music and entertainment throughout the day and into the evening. Attend for free. Get the details

7. Wearable Art Fashion Show (Saturday)
Wearable ART fourteen is heating up the fashion runway. Enjoy live music, dancing and frivolity, featuring the Lint Rollers at the AFTER-GLOW, along with cash bar and the Palm Cafe’ open for your further gastronomic desires. Ticket pricing was not listed. Get the details

8. National Dog Day Celebration (Sunday)
Hyde Park Village will host a National Dog Day celebration, complete with adoptable furry friends from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Visitors and four-legged friends can expect treats from a variety of vendors including Wicked Witches Food Truck, Sorrento Sweets and That Dog Ice Cream, serving a signature dog-friendly dessert.
