Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park is an awesome 25-acre park that everyone in your family can enjoy. The whole family old or young will find something to do while at this amazing park near downtown Tampa. It is located just north of the University of Tampa and across the river from the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. While the city has some amazing parks this is one that seems to be on everyone’s top list.
How the Julian B. Lane Park got its name
The Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park is named after Julian Barnes Lane who was an American politician and the forty-eighth mayor of the City of Tampa. Above all, with 25-acres this park has tons of activities to keep everyone busy and happy. From the courts, open field, water activities, safe play park and the splash pad you can bet on having a great time.
Secondly, at the this park you will find walking paths for adults and kids, a dog park, tennis courts, exercise stations, and our favorite, river access making it great for a fun day outdoors. The views of downtown Tampa are simply amazing and therefore, offer up great photo opportunities. This park is really worth the visit and one you can bring everyone to. If you like family cookouts and events you can rent pavilions.
More Other activities worth a try, for example, paddle boarding, kayaking, and other water activities. One complaint is that there is not ample parking. Parking can be a problem if it is a really busy day as the parking lot is small and there are only a few street parking spots. However, other than that we are sure you are going to love the greenspace, dog park, and all the beautiful artwork. Be sure to check out this waterfront park and let us know what you think.
